Getting help

You have already made the biggest decision, by deciding to get help. Whatever your needs, we will make sure that the help and advice you receive is tailored to what you want to achieve. If, for any reason we can’t help you, we will put you in contact with someone that can.

How does it work?

The first step is to arrange to see a nextstep adviser by calling or ‘dropping-in’ to one of the centres listed (link to ‘find your nearest nextstep centre’ page), or call our regional helpline on 08000 213 101.

During the meeting with your adviser, you will jointly agree a plan of action that will help you achieve your goals.

Your adviser can:

  • help you understand what qualifications or training you might need to get the right job
  • give you advice about funding to support your learning or training
  • give you information about the job market in your area
  • help you put together a winning CV and develop your interview skills
  • help you match your skills and interests to a specific job if you are looking for a change of career
  • give you advice on ways to progress in your current job.
